Single Handed Quals @ Wisconsin (September 17th & 18th, 2022)

Wisco sailors Claire Considine sailing an ILCA 6 ('23), Ryan Tatellbaum sailing an ILCA 7 ('25), and Marissa Tegeder sailing an ILCA 6 ('25) rallied their lasers to sail a fun and competitive regatta on the waters of Lake Mendota. Saturday morning brought great wind of around 6-10 knots and 30 degree obsoletions with the breeze out of the south, so sailors were able to get four great races off before heading in for a quick lunch. After lunch the wind picked up to a gusty 10-15 allowing the race committee to get off four more great races. The bigger breeze sent Marissa and Ryan for a couple of swims but all was not lost. After a long day of racing Ryan finished in fourth in his leaking boat in the mens division, and Claire and Marissa were tied in points and first places. Claire won the tie breaker having won the last race of the day puting her in first place in the woman's division and Marissa getting second and both qualifying for singlehand nationals. The sailors all a had a fun actionpacked day of sailing!
