The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta was a massive success. Wisconsin had two berths in the T-10 fleet. The open team on Minister included Jack Schweda '24 on helm, Cal Lutton '26 on main, Gavin Dempsey '26 and Finn Tait '24 trimming, Connor Wacker '23 in the pit, and Ben Weinstein '23 on the bow. The Honey Badger squad on Tango featured Nicole Giuliani '24 driving, Dylan Gorman '25 on main, Kate Thickens '23 and Tina Dombrowski '23 trimming, Ellie Murphy '24 in the pit, and Mary Daniels '24 on bow. The breeze was out of the Southwest both days with variable conditions, but mostly breeze on. Four races were completed the first day with the open team in first, and the Honey Badgers not far behind in third. The second day began with no kites allowed on the first race, followed by three windy races with kites. The open team held their lead with more first and second place finishes, and the Honey Badgers fought until the end for fifth. Thank you to all the boat owners for access to their boats for a competitive weekend, and Columbia Yacht Club for hosting a great event.
