Wisconsin A fleet with Gavin Dempsey (‘26) and Kerstin Hyer (‘25) along with Wisconsin B fleet with Annabel Bridges (‘23) and Lauren Salmi (‘26) competed this weekend at the Becky Blank regatta at Northwestern. Saturday started with heavy and shifty breeze that picked up throughout the day. As the wind increased, Northwestern required sailors to put mast floats at the top of their sails to prevent from turtling. Wisconsin A fleet was protested by Purdue, but the contention was dismissed. The Wisco team ended the day in first. On the second day, the wind was lighter to start but continued to pickup and be shifty throughout the day. Wisconsin A and B fleet ended the regatta in 2nd, but secured the first for overall! Thank you to Northwestern for letting us stay in the Bamboozerie house!
